The City of Fort Worth "non-emergency" number has changed.

It has come to our attention that City of Fort Worth "non-emergency" number has changed. All city numbers were moved over to the 392 prefix about a year ago and they essentially kept the old number active for this past year during the transition. Well, they failed to let us know that this included the non-emergency number. Again this is news to everyone I know. So the year is up and the old number no longer works. The new number is 817-392-4222 (all same except for the prefix). Please share this with everyone you can. On another note, A lot of folks are afraid to call 911 for stuff that is very 911 worthy. Look at it this way. If you need police, fire, or ambulance dispatched for any level of reason, then it is 911 worthy. 911 was developed so you wouldn't have to remember the phone number to each police, fire, or EMT dispatch. If you call either 911 or the non-emergency number, you get the same call-taker. They then determine who can help you best. If you call 911 to report something minor like a street light out, they'll probably not be happy with you. Please use 911 if you need us. Thank you, Scott A.
